Norway-Nordkapp September 1-17, 2025 September 12

Today, we want to visit the small fishing village of Repvåg. The Hurtigruten ship Kong Harald is stopping in Honningsvåg today. For us, it's another opportunity for a brief visit to a Hurtigruten ship. Then we continue our journey towards Sarnes, where Kurt is fishing for some fish for our dinner.

Sarnes Rorbuer is beautifully situated on the shores of the Sarnesfjord, 10 km from Honningsvåg and 35 km from the famous Nordkapp. Our guests have their own dock, a floating pier for boats, and a private parking lot for cars.
The facility is very modern and is based on a self-catering service. All apartments are equipped with a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary utensils. In the living room, you will find a television and Wi-Fi. After a long day by the sea, you can enjoy the fantastic view over the mountains or simply take a relaxing soak in the hot tub/sauna. The complex consists of 4 cottages, each accommodating 6 persons. One of them, Sarnes 6, has a maximum capacity of 8 persons.

Nordkapp is the northernmost area you can visit as a sports fisherman.

With this successful experience, we continue on to Repvåg.

Repvåg ( Norwegian )or Reiffváhki ( northern Sami ) [ is a smallfishing village inthe municipality of Nordkapp in Finnmark,Norway. The village is located on the west bank of thePorsangerfjord on thePorsanger Peninsula.

The fishing village today has about 14 inhabitants but was historically one of the most important ports and trading places in the province of Finnmark, especially during thePomor trade withRussia, which lasted until theRussian Revolution of 1917. In the village isthe Repvåg Chapel, which serves people in the southern part of the municipality of Nordkapp.

Just outside Repvåg, there is a small area called Stranda, which means “beach” in German (formerly “Finneby” or “Sáamisiida” in Northern Sami), which had a large coastal Sami population and is the last area in the municipality that is still influenced by coastal Sami culture.

This evening, we will eat the fish caught ourselves and enjoy another wonderful display of the Northern Lights.
