14.01. Motueka, Kaiteriteri, Marahau, Motueka, sunny, 24 degrees, calm

After breakfast to V.I. where we spontaneously book a boat tour in Kaiteriteri in a Maori boat. Starts in about 30 minutes. We jet to the starting point. Kaiteriteri is a small town at the beginning of the Golden Bay and has a beautiful golden sandy beach. Before the Maori canoe ride, we are instructed in the technique. Then follows a prayer ceremony by the landlord, who also comes with 3 of his employees as a crew. We are on the coast with the canoe for just under an hour. We all enjoy it. Then hike to the viewpoint of Kaiteriteri with a view of the Golden Bay. Continue to Marehau, the gateway to Abel Tasman Park. Lunch break and then back to Motueka on our FCP. We grill and then take a walk on the beach.
