After the national park, we took a day off in Westport. On the way there, we had the opportunity to walk along the coast and observe a colony of sea lions. In Westport itself, there wasn't much to do, but the hostel was beautiful. A white Victorian-style villa with a fireplace and ornate ceiling and a very cozy outdoor terrace. The next day, we continued to the Pancake Rocks, which got their name from the many overlapping layers of rock. The drive there was simply stunning, changing from green meadows to forest and rainforest or rugged coastal landscapes. In Greymouth, we made another stop so that the air conditioning could finally be repaired, and we arrived at Franz Josef Glacier in the afternoon. In the evening, we had all-you-can-eat pizza and then I was useless for anything ^^ whether the helicopter hike can really take place tomorrow is still uncertain, as the weather is once again not cooperating, but there is still hope :/
