So, now 4 weeks of farm stay behind me. The time passed damn fast! I experienced many things and the couple from the farm let me participate in their everyday life and took me everywhere. A French backpacker arrived about 1 week after me and then we helped together there. We also met some friends of the farming couple who came to visit. Two friends took us on their hike on the Great Southern Rail Trail and we walked 14 km on a former train track. On the farm, we mainly took care of the calves and cared for the plants that were then sold at the market. The adult cows grazed in the pasture. 2 cows were slaughtered while I was on the farm... but I wasn't there because it was very rainy and cold that day.... Yes, I froze quite often there. The weather was not very summery. One week after the slaughter, the meat was cut and we packed it together... That was a task that took up the whole day!
On weekends, we did various things...we went swimming at the dog beach (when the weather was nice), we took a walk on a beautiful beach with some 'rock pools' (there was no nice weather) and we visited the Korumburra Show... It takes place once a year and everything possible, by the residents of the city, is awarded.
One highlight were the little calves that were born while we were on the farm. 4 calves were born.
