The hostel where I stayed before the tour, and where I returned after the tour, offered a free tour today. The destination of the tour was unknown. I had put myself on the waiting list because I wanted to do something else in Hobart and all the spots were already taken. But actually, someone didn't show up and I got to go. 😬👍
It was just a small shuttle bus from the hostel, so there weren't many seats. On the bus, we found out that we were going to Bruny Island. A smaller island that we reached by ferry. We only had to pay for the ferry cost ($4), the rest was actually free! It was a great service from the hostel! 👍
The bus driver grew up on Bruny Island... So he showed us all the beautiful and exciting places. We stopped at a cheese factory, then continued to a lunch spot. Then we went to the lighthouse where we could take beautiful pictures and then we went to a beach. Some people were swimming there, but it was too cold for me again 😅
After the beach, we went to a wine tasting where we could try 4 different local wines for $5. I bought a bottle of cider there and then we went to one last lookout before heading back to the ferry.
I thought it was great that the hostel offered such a tour! It made it really easy to meet people. And every time you saw someone at the hostel, you would start a conversation again. It made the whole hostel very likable!
In the evening, I met up with 2 girls from my original tour to have dinner together... We drank my cider together 👍
