We wasted the morning completely (nothing new). It was not until noon that we left our apartment to explore Paris. After a half-hour walk, we were already exhausted and the air was oppressively hot. It was even hotter in the metro. We were glad to get out of the cramped train and climbed the stairs to our first destination: Notre-Dame. A little later, after walking in circles a few times, we finally saw the cathedral. We mainly knew it from the movie "The Hunchback of Notre-Dame". After taking a look at Quasimodo's home, we sat at the end of the square and watched the other tourists. Once we had seen enough, we headed to the Louvre. We actually stumbled upon it by accident. We would have walked past it if I hadn't recognized the back of it from the movie "The Da Vinci Code", where Tom Hanks, alias Robert Langdon, jumps out of the window. Thanks to Hollywood. We also walked past the Louvre Pyramid, through the Tuileries Garden, along the Avenue des Champs-Elysées towards the Arc de Triomphe, and finally to the Eiffel Tower. We ended the day with nearly 27,000 steps. At the Eiffel Tower, we made fun of the many Pokemon Go players and then went to eat nearby. It wasn't as expensive as we expected, but the food was still very good. It was a day full of great impressions and funny moments. We first took the bus back home, of course, we went too far and had to walk back. Then we took the metro again and walked the last stretch. We were really relieved when we finally saw the hotel sign light up. There we could finally rest our feet and had a cozy evening.
