If you visit La Candelaria Park in Rio Sucio, Caldas, you’ll discover the authentic spirit of its people. If you go during Carnival, you’ll experience an unforgettable celebration. Don’t miss the local coffee; it’s essential to talk to the locals to understand their traditions, but you don’t need to spend much to enjoy it. Also, be sure to check out the church next to the park. I would love to return someday since people used to gather there to preserve their culture, and it was where I first performed my dance.

TRAVEL TIPS:

Visit the park in the morning; there are fewer people and the weather is cooler. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as you will be doing a lot of walking. Bring cash, since some places do not accept cards.
