Rivers that flow uphill and prickly matters
Seven o'clock was the end of sleeping, the alarm clock mercilessly rings and reminds us that today we still have a 60km long tour with 800 meters of altitude ahead of us....

Now the last day has come and it's time to pack up again. But first, let's enjoy our last breakfast before the last things disappear into our bags and everything is loaded into the car.
A final walk through the now empty house. A last look from the terrace to Lake Garda. Then it's time to enter the home address into the navigation system.
In the optimistic scenario, we could be in Chemnitz around 5:30 PM.
On the Italian and Austrian highways, everything is running smoothly this time. Unfortunately, that doesn't last and from the A8 onwards, there is often slow traffic with congestion. Only on the A9 from Hof does everything run smoothly again.
So we arrive in Chemnitz shortly after half past eight. Here, we unload Christian with all his belongings and that's it.
Ulf is in Pirna around 10 PM. The car will only be unloaded the next day.
Once again, it was a great - albeit exhausting - few days on the bike. But we also enjoyed the moments of relaxation by the lake and pool.
We fondly remember our first major biking adventure, the crossing of the Alps from Tegernsee to Lake Garda in 2018:

But we will certainly not forget our (almost) circumnavigation of Menorca in 2019:

Although there will always be shorter MTB highlights in the future, we are looking forward to a slightly longer shared bike vacation next year - wherever it may be.
It's late, so for the last time:
Brush your teeth, take a pee, and off to bed!
