I arrived safely back at the hostel and now I have Wi-Fi and time to write a short novel :)
The flight to Accra went quite well: I sat next to an older couple from America who had lived in Ghana for 2 years and they could tell me even more about the country and the people. I arrived with a one-hour delay at around 9:30 PM local time. There was chaos at the airport and everyone wanted to help me and order a taxi for me. Luckily, Kofi from the Elective Ghana Team found me right away and we were already sitting in an Uber on the way to the student hostel.
I was warmly greeted by another student (Julia) and she showed me around. To be honest, I was shocked! I knew that the rooms did not meet European standards, but I had hoped for something better...
I could choose between a mattress on the floor without the possibility of hanging up a mosquito net or a rickety metal bed with a net - I chose the latter. The apartment was very dirty and there were things from the other girls lying around everywhere. At first, I didn't feel comfortable, but now it's getting a bit better too... Shortly after that, I went to sleep (midnight) because we had to get up early the next day to go to the Easter Festival.
