Today we are in St. Lucia. After breakfast, we went to the meeting point for our excursion 'Walk to the Pitons and swim in the waterfall' at the theater. There we met a few people from the first forum meeting. They had also booked this excursion.
We all left the ship together. Today, there were photographers in front of the ship again, even in costume this time. After the photos, we went to the buses. There were several small buses again. The four of us sat in the last row.
The buses were rather old, and we could hear it and feel it in every sharp turn, as the metal scraped against the asphalt. The ride was quite bumpy. This time we had an English-speaking guide again. We could understand quite a lot though.
We continued through Castries to Soufriere. The first stop was above Marigot Bay. There we had a fantastic view of the bay. The only annoying thing was all the vendors who were dancing around us and trying to put something in our hands. If you took it, you had to pay $1 for it.
From there, we continued to the next stop, the Tet Paul Nature Trail. There we had a local guide who also spoke English. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. It was a very beautiful walk, with great views and lots of beautiful flowers and plants to see. The guide also tried to explain a lot to us. At the highest point, there was an observation platform with a great view of the Pitons. The Pitons are two mountains and the landmarks of St. Lucia. The description of the walk is labeled as a stroll, but be careful, the paths are sometimes rocky and uneven. If you're not good on foot, you would have difficulties there. At the end of the tour, we had some snacks and a cold drink.
Then we continued to the last stop of the tour, the Toraille Waterfall. It was very nice there, but unfortunately very crowded as well. Nevertheless, we couldn't resist taking a refreshing swim in the waterfall. Simply wonderful. After that, we had to change clothes again and continue right away. It was a bit too hectic for me. We could have had a little more time there.
Now it was time to head back to the ship. It was also a very nice excursion that was worth it.
After dinner, we treated ourselves to a cocktail in the Show Bar.
Next up is the report about Grenada.
