Today we had an exciting day at the Falcon Hospital in Abu Dhabi, the largest falcon hospital in the world (now also a pet hotel and much more) under the management of a German veterinarian. Falconry is deeply rooted in Arab culture, and they are willing to spend a lot of money on it.
Under the guidance of Hassan, we not only had a lot of fun but also learned a lot about falcons. Afterwards, we were able to watch how a falcon's claws are manicured and cared for.
It was interesting to learn that during molting, the feathers are collected and can be implanted in the falcons as needed.
