This was the first time I was actually satisfied with my meal! But I don't think the hosts agree with me…
I was out in Ikebukero for some errands when I got hungry. I heard you should do it like this:
Just walk into a place where you only see Japanese people and there are few seats, then you've found something good!
So I did just that. There was an automat where you can place your order:

You go in, press something, pay right away, hand in the receipt, and take a seat. You also always get a round of water with that.
Well, since I was *really* hungry and missing some greens, I treated myself to a salad:

That came first.
Then came the Meal set. I definitely didn't know I was going to get all that. But well, the more the merrier, I was hungry after all:

By the way, here you can see a soup. There was a box with chopsticks on the table. So I thought: I'll ask how to eat this: drink from it or with a spoon, maybe?
Well, they obviously can't speak English here, so the only thing they understand is: I need utensils.
Very amused and smirking, the cook pulls out a fork and a spoon from some distant cupboard, rinses them off again, and brings them to me. Of course, she does this while looking like she's laughing at me in her head. Yeah, um, well.
After I had spooned a bit of my soup, I did it right. It took three times as long as expected, but I think they preferred it that way 🙃
The food itself was super delicious. Finally, some vegetables and the sauce was to die for. I finally found a decent sauce here
But let me tell you one thing, that was a massive portion. While I was really struggling, I saw Japanese people who ordered an extra large bowl of rice. It was unbelievable to watch. Respect.

I still spooned some of the sauce at the end, sorry, I just can't help it…
