Day 0: Preparation 8.5.16; gradually, we are becoming more and more aware of the upcoming adventure. We are increasingly asking ourselves questions about equipment, food, weather, and accommodation. The planning is in its final stages, all workshops on our route are written out, kayak rentals are marked, travel guides, sights, and possible wilderness campsites are marked. Tomorrow we will mount the new roof rack, I am already incredibly excited. The new AT tires have proven themselves, the Defender is now much smoother to drive. Today I will pick up the old new tent in Burgdorf, then I will test what happens at 80 km/h on the highway. In any case, the 8000 km will be much more comfortable than with the mud terrain tires. All week we have piled up material in 2 rooms, packed it in boxes and bags, unpacked it, repacked it, and packed it again until everything was stored. We organized the Defender on Saturday before departure within 30 minutes and stored all the equipment. The only difference between driving for 3 days or 3 weeks is the number of underwear :-).
