Since the weather gods were not so kind to us, we planned to spend the day relaxed. The plan started with sleeping in and having a cozy breakfast. Then we tried to book a boat tour to the Whitsunday Islands and the famous Whitehaven Beach with the sparse Wi-Fi signal, but we had to give up due to the limited options and the really bad internet connection. So we decided to postpone the whole thing to the afternoon and have a cup of coffee in a café with hopefully better Wi-Fi signal.
With light drizzle for our conditions, we armed ourselves with rain protection and headed to the small town of Airlie Beach. There we strolled along the 3km long Bicentennial Walkway and let the impressions of the city, as well as the small shops and restaurants, have an effect on us. As we walked along, we encountered some super athletic moms in their full running outfit rushing past us. Apparently, running is rather unknown here....
On our way back, we stopped by the local info center to get some professional advice. After that, we left a few AU $ lighter but with a wonderful day tour ticket in our pocket.

As a reward, we had a good cup of coffee and cooled off in the campground pool, because in the end, the sun managed to break through the clouds and warm us up.
This time we went to bed early, as a wake-up call was set for 5:30 a.m. the next morning.
