Running and drinking fountain water

Published: 22.07.2022

After a not so good night, due to the uncomfortable and hard bed as well as the loud surroundings right next to the main road, we had a semi good breakfast. There wasn't much savory selection and more croissants, cake, and pastries. Also, no glasses for juice, only plastic cups πŸ₯πŸžπŸͺπŸ₯€

But then we took the bus to the city center of Bologna. On the bus, there was again only this machine that you hold your bank card to and somehow have a ticket. In Parma, it was 7€, in Bologna, it was 18€ per person. So we're probably doing something wrong πŸšŒπŸ’ΈπŸ’³

First, we went to the Museum di Poggi. There were exhibitions on human anatomy πŸ¦΄πŸ’€, archaeology 🐚, and navigation πŸ—ΊπŸ§β›΅οΈ. Especially the rooms on anatomy impressed Finn a lot, as you can see. I found it rather creepy.

Then we strolled through the city, bought sweets and a super delicious lunch. A type of bread wrap filled with ham, arugula, and balsamic cream. At least that's how I ate it. And after a visit to, you can guess... Flying Tiger and new purchases, I was also happy 😌

Since the next tickets for the landmark of Bologna, the two towers, were only available after 45 minutes, we first walked to the second landmark, the Neptune Fountain πŸ§œπŸ½β€β™‚οΈπŸ”±

The ascent to the tower was quite exhausting. We climbed countless wooden steps. And that with 25 people one after the other. Once at the top, about 90 meters high, I needed a longer break and the view wasn't soooo great either. From above, every building looks the same there πŸ‘£πŸ˜

We continued with fresh water from the Neptune Fountain, the visit to the 'Basilica San Petronio'β›ͺ️, and a ride on the 'City Bo Express' through the city center πŸš‚

An impressive ending was the anatomical theater (dissection table in the middle and a few rows of seats around it, as well as a chair for a clergyman who ensures that everything is religiously in order), the medical students' hall, and the associated building 🩺

After a little detour to Dm πŸ›, how nice it was to understand almost everything there because of German private labels, we took the bus back to the hotel 🚌

Before dinner, there was time to relax. Then we walked to Roudhouse Grill nearby and enjoyed American food. A nice change from yesterday's flop πŸ”πŸ₯©πŸ—πŸŸ

Now we're watching a bit of ZDF πŸ“Ί (the only German channel here) and almost forgot about the blog because of all the exertion. But here it is πŸ™ˆ

Tomorrow we're going to 'Fico World Eataly', an amusement park about food, and we're excited to see how it is there 🍴
