Beautiful drive through the countryside in the east. Small fishing villages and fjords everywhere. Lunch on a hilltop overlooking the valley. Continued driving to the campsite...

On the 5th day, we drove to the Dettifoss waterfall. The drive was a horror!!! The road consisted only of potholes, rocks, and gravel. The potholes were lined up for several kilometers (maximum speed of 20 km/h). However, the drive was worth it. The Dettifoss is a breathtaking waterfall!
On the way, we discovered the Asbyrgi National Park, which was formed by a glacier. At a small hidden lake with a view of many ducks and birds, we enjoyed our balanced food again (sandwiches).
We spent the afternoon at the Jardbödin spa and chilled really hard! The water in the spa is heated to 36°C to 41°C by geothermal energy. Very relaxing.
End of day 5.
