22.10.2016: Brisbane River boat trip
Finally, we were able to try out the free ferry on the Brisbane River. The river runs past the entire city center, including my new university and the adjacent Botanic Gardens.

On a very hot day in November (35°), we took a bus to the Koala Sanctuary near Brisbane.
There, we could observe hundreds of koalas, and even take a photo with one. By the way, koalas are not as cuddly as they may appear.
In addition to koalas, we could also observe platypuses, Tasmanian devils, dingoes, cockatoos, wombats, and flying foxes. There was even a petting zoo with emus and many kangaroos.
