We had almost given up hope of meeting Germans at our hostel to exchange ideas. Today, as we sat in the lobby, a nice guy (from Austria) approached us and realized that we are German. We quickly got into a conversation and then the next person (from Stuttgart) joined us ☺️. We spent the day together, had pancakes and are planning to go to St. Kilda Beach again tonight, hoping to see the world's smallest penguins 😍 they mainly come out of their hiding places at sunset. Pictures will follow if successful.
So now onto the car purchase.
After looking at what feels like 10 cars, we finally found one. Yesterday we met a nice German couple who planned to stay for 9 months but have to leave Australia after almost 3 months for health reasons. The car is in great condition and has everything a camper's heart desires. The sympathy was great from the beginning on both sides, which we confirmed in writing later 😊. They had other interested parties, but chose us and even came down in price for us. The car will now go through the RWC (Roadworthy Certificate) during the week, (similar to the TÜV in Germany) and if everything is fine, it will be ours and life in the hostel will come to an end and the journey can begin 🥳.
