It is my 63rd birthday. I am infinitely grateful to have Arni by my side.

In the morning, I am serenaded by Thomas and Veronika with a funny birthday song, joined by our fellow pilgrims during breakfast:

It is Ascension Day, and according to the holiday, it will be a very beautiful stage of 25 km to Aubrac.

We are walking at 1300 m altitude, it is an impressive landscape. Countless orchids are blooming, as well as others.

At noon, we say goodbye to the people from Stuttgart with a coffee, singing "Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten" together with an Austrian.

We feel like we are walking through infinite vastness...

...only to be caught up by our past:

Louis Dalle was freed in Buchenwald and was subsequently a priest in South America.

Who is the stronger one?

The birthday was celebrated in style, after we had settled in the pilgrim's hostel, a cozy medieval tower in Aubrac.
