It's Maundy Thursday and we're heading to France, or more specifically, to Alsace. We were the first guests of the new season in Steinweiler. After a good breakfast at the winery, we set off early.
Ingo continues to pursue his hobby of geocaching:
No more questions ...
We reach the beautiful town of Bad-Bergzabern and treat ourselves to ice cream and coffee😊
We walk through Dörrenbach with its picturesque fortified church to Rechtenbach - Schweigen.
We are well taken care of by a friendly woman across from the Catholic Church, as the almost dehydrated pilgrims, and we cross the border through the German Wine Gate (1936) which is really difficult to recognize.
In the evening, we have dinner and witness the foot washing ceremony on Maundy Thursday at the basilica.
27 km on a very hot day😢🔆
