Stage 16: Speyer - Germersheim

In the morning, my hosts returned to their normal work routine. Arni had already left the house before 6 o'clock, Piet shortly afterwards, and Netti drove me to the S-Bahn at 8 o'clock. Warm farewell, once again heartfelt thanks for the two days😘

In the evening, there was no overnight stay in Germersheim, so the day plan was Speyer - Germersheim, and then to stay overnight in Speyer again in the evening.

In the afternoon, I returned to Speyer. My friend Ingo came in the early evening to accompany me until Saturday😊👍😊

At noon, I had an interesting conversation with a local farmer: the water table is determined by the Rhine, and it is currently 2 meters lower than the long-term average. He fears that the drought will persist in the long term.
