103rd day/July 11th: Alto do Poio - Sarria

From the Galician mountains at an altitude of 1340 meters, it descends again to an altitude of 440 meters, Samos with its ancient monastery is on the way.

Morning mood

The first bar finally serves coffee, a break with Brian from Australia.

Then it continues downhill to the Samos Monastery, which we reach at noon.

The Samos Monastery, founded in the 5th/6th century, is one of the oldest monasteries in the Western world.

In Sarria, I treat myself to a twin room with Lukas. From here, the last 100 km to Santiago start, which are required for a valid pilgrimage to Santiago.
