Days 34-42 (Nov 11-18) Rapa Nui / Easter Island Day 5

Today, we drove clockwise along the round road to Ovahe Beach. On our first visit, we had little time—today, we wanted to take it a bit more relaxed.

On the return trip along the South Beach, we spotted a lava cave right by the coast and stopped. As we approached, we noticed people in and around the cave. Once they saw us, they called out and waved. Well, the previous day still lingers😬☺️🤗. Once again, we were kindly invited to eat. Here, we had freshly caught fish—grilled as well as ceviche, a very tasty dish made from marinated raw fish 😋🤤. And, of course, more cerveja and vino tinto along with very interesting conversations (Spanish-English mix)😅. We were also informed that there would be a music festival in Hanga Roa that evening featuring local Polynesian music… which we attended after dinner (as always ‘Ceviche’ 😬). To our surprise, it was not folklore but rather rock and pop!

Thus, this day too was a great success. 🤗☺️
