On a converted trailer, we drive to our camp. We set up our tent and since our sunset cruise is not until later, we make ourselves comfortable on the terrace, have a few beers, and play cards with some people.
In the late afternoon, we jump on a boat and cruise through the delta. We admire water lilies, crocodiles, kingfishers, and other birds. We then return to a large basin at high speed to watch the sunset.
The next day, we start a tour in the morning. We go on the boat again before switching to small gondolas. Two of us take a seat with a driver behind. We make our way through narrow waterways, navigating through papyrus, water lilies, and reeds. We dock at a small island in the delta. We take a walk around the island to explore it. We learn a lot about the flora and fauna here. We also reenact a local wedding with a necklace made of water lilies, a bouquet of flowers, and a hat for the man.
After a lunch break, we take the gondolas back and then jump on the boat.
In the evening, we have a good meal before ending the day together with beer and wine. When we wanted to go to bed, Lukas couldn't enjoy a good night's sleep. Ants nested under his mattress and made a nest. Reluctantly, he had to squeeze next to me and defend himself against me to avoid falling off the camp bed. ;)
