We arrived safely in Grenada along with the sunset. There were some delays during boarding, but the flight itself went smoothly. Flying with Condor is now like a coffee ride - 2 fixed movies were included, for others you had to pay 8 €. Headphones or other usual drinks cost extra. And there was constant advertising to buy something. Well, we as 1.5 Swabians stood firm ;-)
Already at the airport of Grenada (Maurice Bishop) we were confronted with Caribbean chilliness - we passengers were simply asked to walk across the entire airport area to the reception desk, while the employees sat off to the side in the shade on office chairs and scrutinized the newcomers with comments.
After a short taxi ride (about 8 minutes) we arrived safely at our first hotel - the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort. The room is really nice and the beach is huge. We are curious what it will look like tomorrow when you see more than just the sand at your feet.
After a tour of the hotel, we also consulted the supermarket across the street, so now we even have something to drink and something for breakfast, because 20 $ for a breakfast buffet is too much for us (for one person of course).
Finally, we had a Carib Beer in the bar, which tasted surprisingly good - very good indeed. And we both had Fish & Chips, with the fish fresh from the catch of the day - excellent!
Now we are proud to have lasted until shortly before 10pm local time. It is now 2:45am in Germany. Since we slept relatively little on the flight (Marina) or not at all (Tim), it is now time to turn off the lights. Tomorrow there will definitely be much more to report. On the agenda are, among other things, the creation of envy-inducing beach pictures ;.-)
Take care and see you tomorrow,
Maritim
