Hello dear ones,
Today we walked about 27km through fields and asphalt paths under the bright sunshine. We also walked a section directly on a plowed road that seemed to be made more sturdy by driving back and forth with a tractor. It somehow seemed like the farmer plowed his field too far and simply buried the original meadow path underneath. Only later did we realize that it was the Camino de Santiago. I tried to capture the whole thing in a photo.
Otherwise, today was a relatively uneventful day. I passed through some beautiful villages along the way. The renovated old farms and houses are always nice to see.
So far, I have been walking through relatively flat land. From tomorrow on, this will change a bit. Additionally, there will be larger sections that go through the Thuringian Forest.
So tomorrow we will walk about 30km from Gotha to Eisenach. We will also have to hike about 400 meters uphill and 480 meters downhill. It will be exhausting! And if the guidebook is correct, I will once again have the 'luck' that the two restaurants on the big and small Hörselberg are not open...
Oh yeah... today I spent about 2 hours looking for accommodation for tomorrow and the day after... Honestly, I thought it would be easier...
Wandering greetings from the hostel in the Augustinian Monastery in Gotha.
