Ancient Egypt - Legendary Nile

In 1987, I took a tour through Egypt. For relaxation, I spent an afternoon reading a book, sipping cola, and enjoying a sandwich on the terrace of the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan. Agatha Christie was a famous guest at this hotel.

Here, my dream was born

One day, I will also take a Nile cruise and read Agatha Christie's novel 'Death on the Nile'. I've watched the various film adaptations many times, but I've never read the book.

In late 2024, I booked a trip through the tour operator Trendtours. First Cairo and then off to Luxor and onto the river cruise ship. Trendtours is rather tight-lipped about the hotel and ship information, but on my trip to Jordan in 2022, everything was actually perfect except for a few minor details. Gradually, I will unravel the mystery regarding the accommodations in this travel diary.

I have packed my suitcase, and tomorrow I will depart from Frankfurt am Main for 2 nights in Cairo. Once again to the pyramids and the Sphinx.
