Relaxed hiking holiday near Ramsau

Published: 30.10.2023

Unfortunately, my husband and I weren't able to go on a longer vacation together this year, so we "only" went on shorter trips.

For professional reasons, my husband bought a Ford Transit Sprinter last year, which we quickly converted from a construction site vehicle to a camper. But not as professional as most people, it is and remains a company vehicle. But a mattress and our camping equipment fit in well and so we spontaneously headed south on a Friday after work.

After a few traffic jams, we arrived at the Simonhof campsite near Ramsau in the evening. The campsite is family-run and really beautiful!

In the next few days we slept late, cooked a lot at the campsite and went and admired nature. On our first hike through the Wimbachklamm and beyond there was really a lot going on, but the weather was great and the landscape was simply wonderful. The next day we went to the nearby Hintersee and through the magic forest. Here, too, it was very idyllic and relatively little going on. Unfortunately, we both got unpleasant sunburns. We spent our last day of vacation hiking on the Alpine Adventure Trail. The heat affected us a little, but the views, the path itself and the fresh apple juice on the mountain pasture made our efforts worth it.

The next day we drove back home, but unfortunately the parking situation prevented us from taking a short cool-down trip to Lake Chiemsee.
