Somehow Nelson isn't as exciting as Joachim thought it would be. I, Birgit, found it quite nice. Some sightseeing - there is a street with very well preserved houses from the colonial era (around 1864) - strolling, drinking coffee ...
The subsequent detour to the beach did eventually excite me, Joachim: a huge kite beach with lagoon right on the doorstep, with on-shore wind, awesome! The houses in the bay (see photo) have a direct view of the beach (next photo), so far we have only taken photos, haven't bought anything yet ;-). Paragliding is also possible here, as you can see in the photo as well. On top of that, you can see a lot of pick-up trucks with black Labradors on the loading area, sticking their noses in the wind. If that's not a perfect fit ....
Tomorrow we have a kayak tour planned in Abel Tasman National Park. Birgit and I in one kayak, oh, oh, oh, let's see who goes overboard first, or abuses the paddle ....
More about that tomorrow, one of us will surely survive ;-)
