Last day before the trip
We got up early and headed straight into the city. On the agenda was a visit to the Tokyo Government Building. We stayed nearby, so we walked there. This skyscraper has two towers, each 243 meters high and with 48 floors. On the 45th floor, there is an observation deck, which is even free. We were surprised to encounter almost no other tourists. We took the elevator to the 45th floor, where we were greeted with a wonderful view of the entire city. The visibility was excellent; we could see all the way to Mount Fuji and recalled how we had been right next to it a few days ago. It was breathtaking. We strolled around the observation deck for a long time, taking in the city from all angles. Then it was time to move on. We also visited the Meiji Shrine, which is located in the middle of Yoyogi Park.
We walked through the adjacent park and then it was time to say goodbye to the city and pack all our things back into the backpack.
In the morning, we set off for Tokyo Airport and from there back to Germany.
Japan left a strong impression on us - a country that is distant yet fascinating and full of humility.
