Stage 2: Spielmannsau/Trettachtal - Holzgau/Lechtal

Start: 8:00 am from Birgsauer Hof with taxi bus to Spielmannsau 1002m above sea level

Weather: 25°C, sunny, partly cloudy in the afternoon, thunderstorms upon arrival

Destination: Holzgau in Lechtal at 4:30 pm, 1070m above sea level

- 3h ascent through Sperrbachtobel to Kemptner Hütte 1846m above sea level

- challenging climb over scree, but with an impressive backdrop, refreshing short showers with meltwater, green meadows, colorful flowers, and chirping marmots

- extensive lunch break at Kemptner Hütte at 12:00 pm; could also watch the aerial supply

- continue at 1:00 pm to Mädelejoch 1974m above sea level, the German-Austrian border

- now it's a steep 3-hour descent over scree, passing Roßgumpenalm, through Höhenbachtal, over the suspension bridge to Holzgau
