This morning we started at 9 a.m. to drive through Yosemite Park from the west entrance to the east entrance. Our first stop was the Tuolomne Grove, where we marveled at the gigantic sequoia trees. Then we continued through forests, past cliffs and great viewpoints. Here we enjoyed the wide view of the mountain landscape, all the way to the dried-up plateau in Tuolomne Meadows. At the park exit, we were at an elevation of 3030m and from there it was steadily downhill, past Monolake to Lone Pine. From here, we will drive to Death Valley tomorrow. We have already bought plenty of water as recommended. We are now in the Wild Wild West, only cowboys and Indians have not met us yet. See you tomorrow, unless Death Valley swallows us ;-)
