With 4x4 through the deep sand
Now we could use the 4x4 drive for the first time and drive through the deep sand to the dunes.

Elephant skin?

The dried layer of clay in the Namib Desert resembles elephant skin. It is believed that elephants roll in exactly these mudfields. The dried clay on their skin then looks like the ground in Sossusvlei :).
