Even though this is not directly related to my break, I have to publish it here because the horrible news reached me in the middle of my sabbatical year. And at the moment, I cannot estimate what the devastating news will do to me mentally and what impact it will have on my further break. 

Soccer is the worst! 🖕

I have to mention this in advance.

As if this suffering from weekend to weekend wasn't bad enough, we also torture ourselves at work with a staff betting game! 

Now, at the end of the season, the scores have been calculated! 

With utter horror, I found out that I, a man with undisputed expertise in the field of ball kicking, finished in last place in the previous season. 

To add insult to injury, there is now shame and tons of teasing, because it is a good tradition for the winner of the betting list to give the last-placed person a jar of pickles. 

In the past years, I always found it really funny. 

Hm... 😳

Now is the time for a merciless analysis. 

How did this happen?

Let's be honest: my colleagues are wonderful. I love them all! 

But... they have no idea about soccer! 

If not for me, would my betting username be 'superexpert'? 

My suspicion:

I made the right bets. The Bundesliga played wrong!
