Hanseatic city directly on the Baltic Sea, the old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: The department store chain Karstadt was founded here and the main store still exists. Compact old town; everything is within walking distance.
University town: cabaret, pubs, and culture. And very importantly: they speak German!

The viewing platform of the former St. George's Church is reached by elevator, and from the top you have a wide view of the city, countryside, and sea.
