Back to the mainland

Now we are sitting on the ferry and saying BYE BYE to the Isle of Wight. Dercia will start working soon, she seems less amused. But we will remember her... while we indulge in one last feast.

On Dercia's recommendation, we are going to Framptons Bar (http://www.framptonsbar.co.uk/).

Hmm🤔🤔🤔, I always wanted to pay too much for a small salad and a mushroom for an extra £1.50 (even though I ordered it instead of the blue cheese that usually comes with the salad). I am not that thrilled, but Andrea is enjoying her nice and simple lunch before we move into our cottage for the next night (http://www.pethertoncottage.co.uk/).

You have to be lucky - we got upgraded, the room is huge.

But we won't stay for long, we want to explore the New Forest - after a sweet snack at Peggy May's Café (http://peggymayscafe.com/).

I have been here once before in 2011, and the free-roaming (semi-)wild horses already fascinated me back then. Andrea is completely on edge, she can't believe that she has to suddenly brake from time to time because a horse (or a cow) runs in front of the vehicle out of nowhere.

We stop often. Andrea - still "ooooohhhhh soooo beautiful" excited - captures the galloping of a whole herd on video. Later, we encounter free-roaming and running hoofed animals everywhere on the outskirts of the town of Lyndhurst during a walk.

We declare the day to be very successful... which was also due to the fact that Wetter.com once again fell victim to a misconception, because the sun was indeed shining (at times) 😊.
