Mud Racing Darwin

Published: 24.04.2017

Last weekend we went to Hidden Valley where the race tracks are located. There is a kart track and a track for regular car races. And a mud racing track. The track is built side by side and consists of mud, slime, and water. There are no seats around the racetracks, everyone brings their camping chair or blanket and sits wherever they want. It is specifically mentioned on the internet not to forget your chair and cooler bag.

Admission was at 6:00 PM. Then everyone emptied their cooler bag (we had sandwiches, cookies, and chips with us). There was a beautiful sunset. At 7:00 PM, the last mud race of the season started. Two vehicles always raced against each other. There were three different classes - all-wheel drive vehicles, front/rear-wheel drive, and quads. It was loud, dusty, and muddy :) Finally, there was a beautiful 15-minute fireworks display.

We quite liked it and if you have the opportunity, you should check it out.

We spent the rest of the weekend resting, chilling by the pool, shopping, and working.

On Sunday evening, we watched the sunset in the park - very nice. We were able to watch three dolphins (unfortunately, they were too fast for a photo) and lots of jumping fish.
