Drought Stretch

Long day from Sofia to Craiova at 32 degrees. The air conditioning kept malfunctioning. Just before the destination, the engine seemed to be overheating. However, the train driver knew how to fix it and poured about 15 liters of water into the radiator (see photo). We also drank a lot of water. During the leisurely journey - I estimate 20 km/h - we were able to indulge in ornithological studies, as many birds flew alongside us or overtook us: Alongside pheasants, magpies, peregrine falcons, goldfinches, ring pigeons, red-backed shrikes, and many others that were so small they were hard to recognize, it was incredible: Several European rollers flew parallel to the train, and we could admire the beautiful birds with blue heads and blue chests and golden-brown backs. I've never seen this bird, let alone looked at it so closely.
