3.7. Briançon - Le Monetier les Bains/ Le Lauzet Gîte 25km/ 570hm

Cool temperatures. I had to put on more clothes at night. Then I got up late and had coffee with a couple from Valence in their motorhome. Didn't leave until 11am, never been so late before.
Constant headwind uphill towards Lautaret. Not easy. Headwind is more annoying than the climb itself.
Decided to leave the busy main road and ended up in the valley on a quiet road along the river 'Guisane' with rafting offers.
Then pushed the bike along a very narrow and rocky trekking path. About 3 km of bike hiking. Beautiful peaceful nature, great views of rock formations, meadows, and the Galibier Massif.
Finally, Le Lauzet with a simple mountain hut/ a Gîte (I was here in 2022 as well) bed, dinner, nice hikers...
