Tag 4 - 7.9.2023 Plovdiv, Edirne

And the journey goes on. After setting off from the nice campsite, we start at 9:30 a.m. Our first destination today is Plovdiv with its interesting, great old quarters. The city has changed a lot for the better; I no longer recognize anything from previous trips. The old town is completely renovated and the area around the amphitheater has already been largely completed. As is typical for the country, we eat chicken with vegetables in a fast food joint. At around 3 p.m. we set off for a country that was completely new to me and reached the Bulgarian/Turkish border at 6 p.m. Our car is checked briefly, but we made it in 1.5 hours and reached Turkey. Attention: It's not worth buying a phone card at the border, it's up to four times overpriced. So we drive to Edirne and get much cheaper offers in the shopping mall. To spend the night we drive far out of town to a harvested field. The campsites near Edirne listed online are all closed. approx. 2300 km
