4th day from Eisfeld to Wandersleben (Erfurt)

In Eisfeld, I stayed at Hotel Hubertus right on the border between Bavaria and Thuringia. Now I had the Thuringian Forest ahead of me. Rain was forecasted for the next few days, so I decided to take the train from Eisfeld to Eisenach first.

After 2 hours, I arrived in Eisenach at noon. I hopped on my bike and headed towards Erfurt.

Along the Hörsel River, I rode at the foot of the Wartburg castle. It was uphill, and after about 10 km, I reached Sattelstädt for a short break, then continued past Waltershausen. After 40 km, I reached Wechmar and then my destination for the day, Wandersleben. I stayed at my former colleague Hartmut Trier's place. In total, I cycled 47 km today, making it a total of 256 km in 4 days.
