Manatees, mermaids & circumcision ceremony

From Chiang Mai I flew back to southern Thailand to Surat Thani. There I took a bus to Krabi, a minivan and finally a longtail boat to get to the small island of Koh Mook, where Liz had already spent a week at that time. I was warmly welcomed at Mook Anda and Liz and I had a lot to talk about. Koh Mook is even smaller than Koh Jum with only one small village.

We played with the kids on the beach, went snorkeling and went on longtail boats with the boys. We saw playing manatees (dugongs) in the sea, camped on the roof of Mook Anda Bar, unknowingly marched (as the only foreigners) in the circumcision ceremony across the island, danced to Soja and Singha in the evening and were mostly surrounded by animals.
