On Sunday, we had to say goodbye to Carlos for now because the road salt was damaging his paws. He is now on a relaxing holiday in Heidelberg and will be pampered there.
We have also stored some of our equipment for now, as it is still too cold to sleep outside. Our backpacks now feel 10 kilograms lighter, but we still feel the weight and every muscle by now.
On the way from Großenkneten to Vechta, we saw at least 2000 boxwood trees, whose cuts and shapes varied constantly. Apparently, this is a big trend in this area!
After what felt like endless kilometers, we finally made it to our accommodation. The hosts were super nice and we were just grateful for the shower and the bed. The night was a bit restless because no matter how we lay, some muscle was always complaining.
Summary of the day: Slow and steady.
