Wow... firstly greetings from Washington D.C. What a ride today! Somehow, the alarm was ignored this morning and we didn't leave as early as we wanted to. Never mind! Strengthened in the car and first stop in Buffalo. At this point: Dear Jendrik, once again all the best for your birthday! We made a stop at the Highmark Stadium to send Jendrik a birthday video as a fan of the Buffalo Bills.
Since Philadelphia didn't convince us so much in advance, we wanted to make just a short stop to at least climb the Rocky Steps and see the Liberty Bell. Just before Philadelphia, Marie noticed that Google Maps was set to avoid toll roads the whole time. So we drove for a long time on streets, very interesting. But we could also see the first national park again, beautiful single-family houses with incredibly large properties along the Niagara River, and of course, we could take a lot of potholes with us. We saw the school bus depot, a prison, and beautiful landscapes. But it took us over an hour longer. But never mind.
Arriving in Philadelphia, first to Rocky! We walked up and down everything properly, enjoyed the view, and then cruised on quite quickly. Hunger was slowly setting in deep and only the Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was signed, and the Liberty Bell were missing.
Our evening ended at Subway and on the street. We still had a 2 1/2 hour drive to Washington ahead of us and arrived at the hotel at midnight. Actually, we can sleep a bit longer because tomorrow we want to see the sunset in the national park and we are already on the road for a while. Today was the day with the fewest steps we have taken. But the most miles, we spent $100 on gas. But nobody cares about environmental protection in the USA anyway. We can't even count how many states we have passed through. But at least we didn't pay any tolls 😅 Good night from Washington, you bunnies!
