Day 1
On December 26, 2025, our journey to the Caribbean finally begins. Babsi and I will leave for the airport in Venice at midnight. Our first flight departs at 6:10 AM in freezing temperatures, and we will land in Paris around 8 AM. We continue at 11 AM to French Guiana. After a 9-hour flight, we arrive at Cayenne Airport - in very warm temperatures - safe and sound. We manage to play a few rounds of Punto along with a Heineken. At 7:50 PM, we fly on to Fort de France and land well two hours later. A taxi takes us to Hotel Karibea. After this long journey, we fall into bed very tired. Tomorrow, we will pick up our rental car and embark on our first exploration trip.
