Samuel wakes us up at 7:30 a.m. We get ready and march to the beach for the pelican feeding (8:45 a.m.). There are a lot of spectators today, but only one pelican. We were lucky yesterday with the five. The kids still get to throw fish and the one pelican gets to eat to its heart's content.
We have breakfast at the campsite, get the motorhome ready for travel, and then drive to the Natural Bridge, a viewpoint in the national park. On the way back, we make another detour to the fantastic playground in Kalbarri. The adults splash in the sea and we have a picnic. Unfortunately, the fish & chips shop is closed again, so we have salad and bread rolls. We take the opportunity to shower at the beach. During that, we meet a German couple around 50 years old (taking a sabbatical). They bought a rugged camper, with which they will be traveling for a total of 6 months until December. Enviable!!!
In the afternoon, we drive to the Natures Window viewpoint. From the parking lot, there is a comfortable path to the rocks. From here, you have a great view of the river and the surrounding area. Very beautiful!!!
Originally, we wanted to go to the 24-hour rest area (spacious highway parking lots with toilets where you can stay overnight for free) at Nerren Nerren. But that's too far for us today. Therefore, we take the next 24-hour rest area at Galena Bridge, where we arrive at sunset (6:20 p.m.) (on the way there, we see our first kangaroo). The rest area is already quite full, and we find a free spot. Like everywhere in this area, there are millions of flies (especially small ones) here too. Unfortunately, there are also a few annoying mosquitoes.
We cook egg noodles with bacon and salad. Tonight, we all go to bed together at 9 p.m. Michi and I didn't get much sleep the night before because we set up, 'fed', and published our travel blog.
