The way to the south

Published: 07.04.2022

We were at home for three days. The washing machine was running hot and we were looking forward to great weather. Because as soon as we were home, the bad weather came too. There was nothing left of spring in Heide.

On Friday morning we started. It's amazing how much more space we had because of the summer clothes. The journey went to Leipzig. We wanted to make a stopover in Munich, otherwise it would have been too exhausting for Henriette.

Arriving in Leipzig, we found a parking space close to the city center and explored the city. There was a delicious wild boar roast in the town hall cellar. The food there is highly recommended. The next day we visited the most beautiful zoo in Europe.

We started early in the morning at ten and explored the zoo until about 4 p.m. We also visited the Godwanaland. We believe that the zoo has this reputation for a reason. It was really great and we would come back here anytime.

In the afternoon we continued to Munich and stayed overnight in the Allianz Arena parking lot. This is open to motorhomes, so we were perfectly prepared for our arena tour the next morning.

During the night, winter caught up with us again and it started to snow. Everything was white in the morning and we could witness live how the lawn in the stadium was dried with lamps. The guided tour was very impressive, as was the subsequent visit to the museum.

At noon we drove into the city and found a great place in Schwabing. From there we walked to the Olympic Park to have our first visit to a beer garden. It was still cold and we sat in the marquee, but we already had an idea of how it would be here in summer. And so the week came to an end.
