Colle del Nivolet

Finally hiking ...

We took the shuttle bus up to Coll del Nivolet at an altitude of 2,600 m. Bus driver here wouldn't be my first career choice. On narrow serpentine roads, hundreds of cyclists struggle uphill on Saturdays. In every curve, the bus driver has to be careful not to hit a cyclist - because the cyclists are not paying attention, they are busy with themselves. The views are fantastic and I'm looking forward to the steps in nature. Up here, there is still a lot of water, so we pass by several crystal-clear mountain lakes and also jump into one on the way back to rinse off the dust and sweat from the sunny ascent. We make it to Colle Leynir, at an altitude of 3,084 m, and greet Mont Blanc in the distance. A circular hike is not possible, and fortunately the same path looks completely different in the other direction. So we return to the coffee at the parking lot and go back down the 100 hairpin bends with the long-suffering bus driver.

The evening ends comfortably with salad and red wine. We are tired.
