I buy a gift for Omar (the visitor from Tagua Tagua Park, who invited me to Santiago back then) in a local chocolate factory.
I buy some snacks at Unimarc for the flight and then hop into an Uber to the airport (there's simply no reliable public transportation in this city).
The plane lands half an hour earlier than planned in Santiago. Finally, warmth again. I take the airport bus to the metro and then continue to the Macul neighborhood, where Omar picks me up at the metro station. He invites me to burritos in the food court next to the metro and then we go to his place.
He still lives with his parents at the age of 28, and not with his girlfriend, which is common in Chile. Usually, people don't move in together until after they're married. Omar's father is also named Omar, his mother is Gladys (I have no idea if that's spelled correctly), and there's a dog named Nala who immediately demands attention from me. Bastian, Omar Junior's friend, rides by and we drink Piscola (I think the mixture is self-explanatory) and beer. They invite me to a reggaeton party on Friday. I guess I'll have to stay longer than planned. I sleep tipsy and content in Omar's room while he sleeps in his sister's room, who is currently traveling in Istanbul.
