Luisa Kickuth: "Time for ice cream at King's" - ADELAIDE X

Published: 23.10.2019

Toady was another cool school day at KBGS!

First, we had one lesson of Maths and the students revised how to find out the median and did some exercises.

In the second lesson we had pastoral care with Mr. Simpson: the students wrote short letters to a teacher who is recovering from surgery. Those letters were saying that they miss him and that he hopefully will come back soon.

After 20 minutes of recess we had a double lesson of PE, which means \"physical education\". In this class, we played basketball and did a workout which was quite fun but also very exhausting.

Then, we had lunch for 40 minutes - the best thing about that: we had ice cream to refresh ourselves because we had 33 degrees today!

When recess finished we had two lessons of science with Mr. Kyriacou. The students learned about the ecological system and the nitrogen cycle. Mr. K showed us two short videos of how the ecological system works. We also did an experiment to see the impact of heat on the ozone layer.

When school finished we all went back home and spent the afternoon with our host families.

Another exciting and great day in Adelaide!

Today was another cool school day at KBGS!

First, we had one hour of Maths, where the students revised how to find out the median and did some exercises.

In the second hour, we had 'pastoral care' with Mr. Simpson. The students wrote short letters to their former teacher, who is recovering from an operation. In these letters, they tell him that they miss him very much and hope that he will return soon.

After a 20-minute break, we had a double period of 'personal education', which is what physical education is called in Australia. In PE, we played basketball and did a workout, which was a lot of fun but also very exhausting.

After that, we had a 40-minute lunch break, during which we had ice cream to refresh ourselves because it was 33 degrees today.

When the big break was over, we had two hours of Science with Mr. Kyriacou. The students learned about the ecosystem and the nitrogen cycle. Mr. K showed us two short videos that explained the ecosystem very well. We also did an experiment to see the impact of heat on the ozone layer.

After school, everyone went back home and could spend a nice afternoon with their host families.

What an exciting and great day in Adelaide!
